Lively Violin Recital at Navarathri Special Kutcheri



On the final day of the three day Navarathri Special and as part of the Sunday Kutcheri in the Park, 10students, disciples of Carva Rajasekar, presented a lively violin recital that was much appreciated by over 100 music connoisseurs and morning walkers who had gathered around the Chess Square of the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore this morning.

Compositions they presented include Thyagaraja’s Giri Raja Sudha ( Bangala/Adhi), Sara Sara Samarai ( Kunthala Varali/ Adhi) and Thilesi Rama ( Purna Chandrika/ Adhi).and Muthuswamy Dikshithar’s Sakthi Sahitha Ganapathim ( Sankarabharanam/ Adhi).

TT Srinivasaraghavan, MD, Sundaram Finance was present on the occasion and handed over the certificates and mementos to the artistes.

Group Navarathri Special Kutcheri



15students, all disciples of Padma Chandilyan, presented a Group Carnatic music performance this morning on day 2 of the Navarathri Special Kutcheri organised by Sundaram Finance at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore.

Compositions they presented include Sharanu Benagane (Nalina Kanthi/Misrachapu), Saraswati Namostuthe(Saraswati/ Adi), Kunidhado Krishna(Hamsanandhi /Adi), Himagiri Thaneye (Sudha Dhanyasi /Adi) and Kovil Azaithal (Valachi /Adi).

This is the third year that Sundaram Finance has been organising Navarathri Special Kutcheris. Sundaram Finance also organises Kutcheris on the first Sunday of every month.

Anirudh presents maiden Kutcheri



In his maiden Kutcheri, 9year old S Anirudh, a class V student of Sri Sankara Senior Secondary School, Adyar, presented a lively carnatic vocal music performance this morning at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore on day 1 of the three day Navarathri Special Mikeless Kutcheri organised by Sundaram Finance.

Anirudh is learning music from Guru Dr. Radha Ramji (Disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri T K Govinda Rao).

Accompanied on the Mridangam by K S Sriram (Guru Shri K Rangarajan) and on the Violin by Parur Anantlakshmi (Guru Shri Parur M S Anantharaman), Anirudhi presented songs that included Thyagarajar’s Kaala Harana ( Sudha Saveri, Roopakam) and Brova Bharama ( Bahudhari, Adhi), Neelakanda Sivan’s Entraikku Siva ( Mukhari, Misra Chaapu), Sri Purandara Dasar’s Dayamaadu
(Kalyani, Adhi) and Mangalam Ganapathy’s Navarathri Nayaki( Ranjani Maala, Adhi).

S Sivakumar, VP, Sundaram Finance Ltd., was present on the occasion and handed over certificates and mementos to the artistes.
