For the First time the Group Kutcheri was broken up into two parts of 30minutes each
Chennai 11 January 2013: On day two of the four day Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival 2013 25students of Harishree Vidyalayam presented a group kutcheri in two parts this morning at the chess square of the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. No mikes and speakers were used in the Park Kutcheri.
For the first half hour, starting 630am, these children presented a mix of carnatic songs,hindi bhanjans, abhang and devotional songs.
Between 7am and 730am this morning, as part two of the Group Kutcheri, 3children presented a combination of Carnatic and Hindustani classical songs.
The idea behind the Kutcheri in the Park is to promote young musical talent aged below 15 years and to help them shed their inhibitions and give them the confidence to move up to the next level.
Over 550 children have presented the mikeless Kutcheri at the Nageswara Rao Park. Sundaram Finance conducts audition to select the artistes.
