Vijaykishore presents Sunday Kutcheri


14 year old A. Vijaykishore, a student of DAV School, Adambakkam presented Kutcheri this Sunday (3 March) morning as part of the monthly Sunday Kutcheri in the Park organised by Sundaram Finance at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. Vijaykishore was accompanied on the Mridangam by K Sudev (Disciple of Sri Adambakkam Seshadri) and on the Violin by Parur M.K.Ananthalakshmi ( Disciple of Parur M.S. Anantharaman and Parur M.A. Krishnaswamy). Vijaykishore is learning music from Guru Vasanthi Gopal. Vijaykishore’s presentation included Sri Mahaganapathi (gowlai - misra chapu), Nadaloludai- (kalyanavasantham- roopakam), Dhanavana( thodi- adi), Velaiya (saveri- adi), Krishna Ne Begane (yamunkalyani- misra chapu), Eppadi Padinaro (aaberi- adi) and Narayanathe ( behag- adi). The idea behind the Sunday Kutcheri in the Park is to promote young musical talent aged below 15 years and to help them shed their inhibitions and give them the confidence to move up to the next level. Sunday Kutcheri in the Park enters 8th Year


Baanupriya presents Kutcheri in the Park Launched in February 2006, the monthly Sunday Kutcheri in the Park organised by Sundaram Finance has completed 7years. Over 700 children have presented the mikeless Kutcheri at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. No Mikes and Speakers are used at the Kutcheri. 14 year old Baanupriya, a student of Modern Senior Secondary School presented a Kutcheri this Sunday (3 Feb) morning to kick off the 8th year of the Sunday Kutcheri in the Park. Baanupriya was accompanied on the Mridangam by P.V.Srivatsa (Guru: T.Shyamsundar) and on the Violin by Parur M.K. Ananthalakshmi (Disciple of M.S. Anantharaman and M.A.Krishnaswamy). Baanupriya is learning music from Guru G.Vaidehi / Vasantha Ramesh (disciples of Smt Suguna Varadachari). Banupriya’s presentation included Papanasam Sivan’s Senthil Andavan (Karahara priya) and Parthpara (Vachaspathi), Jayachamaraja Wodeyar’s Sri Jalanthara Gam (Bira Nattai), Mysore Sadasiva Rao’s Sri Kamakodi (Saveri), Mythiya Bhagavathar’s Gam Ganapathe (Hamsadvani). Kumaraswamy, Sundaram Business Services was present on the occasion and presented certificates and mementos to the artistes. 52 DAV students present kutcheri in the park


On the final morning (Sunday 13 Jan) of the four day Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival 2013, 52 students from DAV Mat Higher Secondary School (Guru Guhaprasath) accompanied by V. Suresh (Percussionist) presented an hour of lively mikeless Kutcheri that was applauded by 100s of morning walkers at the Chess Square at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. TT Srinivasaraghavan, MD, Sundaram Finance Ltd., was present on the occasion and presented certificates and mementos. Harishree Vidyalayam students' Group Kutcheri


For the First time the Group Kutcheri was broken up into two parts of 30minutes each Chennai 11 January 2013: On day two of the four day Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival 2013 25students of Harishree Vidyalayam presented a group kutcheri in two parts this morning at the chess square of the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. No mikes and speakers were used in the Park Kutcheri. For the first half hour, starting 630am, these children presented a mix of carnatic songs,hindi bhanjans, abhang and devotional songs. Between 7am and 730am this morning, as part two of the Group Kutcheri, 3children presented a combination of Carnatic and Hindustani classical songs. The idea behind the Kutcheri in the Park is to promote young musical talent aged below 15 years and to help them shed their inhibitions and give them the confidence to move up to the next level. Chettinad Vidyashram students kick off Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival 2013 with a mikeless kutcheri


The four day Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival 2013 kicked off this morning at 630am with a one hour mikeless Group Kutcheri presented by 15students of Chettinad Vidyashram in front of hundreds of morning park walkers at the chess square of the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. No mikes and speakers were used in the Park Kutcheri. Accompanied by Varun Narayana on the Mridangam and Sathya Rajesh, who took on the dual role of playing the Tabala and the Kanjira, these school students aged below 15years presented Bhajan compositions that included Gam Gam Ganapathi, Malmaruga, Narayanajaye, Theertha Vittala, Panduranga Vittala and Vanamali Vasudeva. P Viswanathan, Company Secretary, Sundaram Finance Ltd., presented certificates and mementos to the artistes. Prithvi presents lively Sunday Kutcheri


As part of the monthly Sunday Kutcheri in the park organised by Sundaram Finance, 13 year old Prithvi Harish, a student of Chettinad Vidyashram presented a lively Kutcheri this Sunday (2 December) morning at 630am at the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore. Prithvi is learning music from Guru Mrs. Madhuram Srinivasan (one of the Therezhendur Sisters). Prithvi was accompanied on the Mridangam by TV. Srivatsa (Guru T.Shyamsundar) and on the Violin by T.Srikanth (Guru Hemamalini Renganathan) The music connoisseurs and the morning walkers at the park who had gathered around the Chess Square appreciated his presentation that included Papanasam Sivan’s Mooladharamurthi (Hamsadhwani -Aadhi), Kaana Kan Kodi Vendum (Kaamboji- Aadhi), Karapagame Kan Paarai (Madhyamavathi-Aadhi) and Senthil Aandavan (Karaharapriya-Roopakam), Thyagarajar’s Naadha Thanumanisam (Siddha Ranjani – Aadhi) and Muthuswamy Dikshithar’s Kanja Dhalaya Dhaakshi ( Kamala Manohari-Aadhi).
